Dr.Fone - WhatsApp Transfer (Android):

Google Drive or local backup has significant limitations for WhatsApp backup & restore. It's impossible to use the official way to backup WhatsApp messages to the PC for permanent backup. Moreover, you can only backup WhatsApp to Google Drive on Android and iCloud on the iPhone. You cannot directly restore WhatsApp chats of Google Drive backup to iPhone.

Install and open the Dr.Fone tool on your PC, and select "WhatsApp Transfer" among all the options.

Select the WhatsApp from the left bar. You can find the main WhatsApp features for your device.

Note: Steps for backup WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business Messages from Android to PC are the same.

Part 1. Backup WhatsApp Messages from Android to PC

You can backup WhatsApp to the computer using Dr.Fone. The backup function is free. However, it's paid function if you want to restore it to another device, or export to the computer.

To back up WhatsApp messages from Android device to your PC, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Connect Android to PC with the USB cable

Connect your Android device to the PC and select "Backup WhatsApp messages" to start to backup WhatsApp messages from Android to PC.

Step 2. Backup WhatsApp messages of your Android device

When your Android device is detected, the WhatsApp backup process starts. You need to follow the instruction to back it up.

• Go to Android device: Tap More options, then go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup. Choose 'Never' backup to Google Drive. After it's done, click on BACKUP. Then click on ‘Next’ on Dr.Fone.

  

• Now look at Android device: Tap on Install. If you do not see the pop-up windows on your phone, click on ‘Show Again’ button on Dr.Fone: Then you'll see it on the device

  

• Verify and restore WhatsApp messages on the Android. After it's done, press 'Next' on Dr.Fone.

  

Step 3. Backup is completed.

Keep your Android connected to the PC during WhatsApp backup. Wait until the backup is completed, and you can find all the processes are marked "100%".

By clicking "View It", you can find that your WhatsApp backup record exists on your PC.

Part 2. Restore WhatsApp Backup of Android to Android Devices

The backed up data can be restored to any Android devices after you use Dr.Fone to back it up. See how to use Dr.Fone to restore its backup to a device:

Step 1. Connect your Android to the PC.

WhatsApp backup data of your former Android can be smoothly restored to your new Android if the same WhatsApp account is used. To start with, connect your new Android to the PC.

Step 2. Restore WhatsApp backup of old Android to new Android with your PC.

• Click "Restore to Device".

  

• Then all the WhatsApp backup files are displayed. Select a desired one and click "Next."

  

• Click on "Restore".

  In the prompt that pops up, click on Continue if there is no data on the target Android device. You'd better backup firstly if you do not want to lose data. You'll only see WhatsApp messages restored from the desired backup after restoring.

  

After each restoring process is complete, you can find all WhatsApp backup is restored to your Android.



Part 3. Restore WhatsApp Backup of Android to iOS Devices

Unlike Google Drive backup can't restore to iPhone directly, you can use Dr.Fone to restore WhatsApp from Android backup to iPhone.

If you want to restore from Google Drive backup to iPhone, there is alternative way. Restore WhatsApp messages from Google Drive to the Android. Then follow the steps in Part 1 to back it up. After you back up Android by Dr.Fone, you can restore it to iPhone with the steps below:

Step 1. Connect your iOS device to PC.

Once you have backed up your Android WhatsApp data to PC, you can restore WhatsApp backup to your iOS devices. First, get your iOS device like iPhone or iPad connected to your PC.

Step 2. Restore Android WhatsApp backup to your iPhone/iPad

Click "Restore to Device".



In the WhatsApp backup list, find your Android WhatsApp backup file, select it and click "Next".



In the new window, click "Restore". Then the tool will start to restore all your Android WhatsApp backup data to the iOS device.



Wait until all the WhatsApp backup data is restored to the iOS device. You can then check WhatsApp messages/photos/videos from the iPhone or iPad.



Part 4. Export and Print your WhatsApp Messages and Attachments

Export Android WhatsApp as HTML/PDF

Step 1: Click view to check your stored data

Your backup data are viewable now! After backing up, just click “view” button to check your data.



Step 2: Tap your attenments to export

On the left sidebar, you need click the “WhatsApp” or” WhatsApp Attachements” and tick the attachemnt you want to export.



Step 3: Set the export directory

A box will lead you to set the export directory after cliking the button “Recover to Computer”.



Print Your Android WhatsApp Message

Step 1：Select message to print

You can select the message you want and then click the “Print” icon on the top right.

Step 2:  Start to print

After clicking “print” icon, the print settings window will pop up for you to print.
