Last month, Apple announced the new iOS 14 beta release during its 2020 WWDC keynote. Since then, all iOS users are pretty excited about all the new features they’ll receive with this new update. As usual, the new iOS wallpapers have become the center of conversation for everyone as this time Apple has decided to add special features to the newly released wallpapers (we’ll talk about it in a while).
In addition to this, Apple is also working on home-screen widgets, which will be first of its kind and a new feature for all the iOS users. Even though the update hasn’t been released to the public yet, you can still test it on your iPhone if you’ve joined Apple’s public beta testing community.
However, if you are regular iOS users, you might have to wait for a couple of months to get the final version of iOS 14. Meanwhile, take a look at all the features that you’ll get with iOS 14.
Part 1: Changes about iOS 14 wallpaper
First and foremost, let’s unveil the most important part of the new iOS update; the new wallpapers. Believe it or not, but Apple has decided to step-up its game with the new iOS 14 wallpapers. With iOS 14, you’ll get three new wallpapers and you can choose between light and dark mode for each of these wallpapers. It means that you’ll have six different wallpaper options to choose from.
Along with this, each of these wallpapers will get a special feature that you can use to blur the wallpaper on the home screen. This will make your screen navigation much easier and you won’t get confused between different icons.
Even though the beta testers can only choose between these three wallpapers, Apple is more likely to add several other wallpapers to the list in the final release. And, like every hardware update, we’ll get to see a completely new set of wallpapers with the highly rumored iPhone 12.
Part 2: Download the iOS wallpaper
In order to download the iOS 14 wallpaper, there are several online sources available to get it done like iphonewalls.net. You can avail a lot of websites to get your favorite wallpaper. All you need is to click or tap on it and then set it from your Photos or Setting app on your iPhone or iPad. Make sure to save the wallpapers in their full resolution.
Part 3: How to change the iOS wallpaper
If you are a beta tester, you can easily apply the new iOS 14 wallpapers after installing the new beta updates. Simply go to “Settings” and click on “Wallpaper”. Here you’ll see all the new wallpapers. Select the one that you like and set it as your current home screen/lock screen wallpaper.
Bonus: What’s more with iOS 14
1. iOS 14 Widgets
For the first time in Apple’s history, you’ll get to add widgets on your iPhone’s home screen. Apple has created a dedicated Widget gallery that you can access by long-pressing the home screen. The widgets vary in sizes, which mean you’ll be able to add them without replacing the home screen icons.
2. Siri’s New Interface
With iOS 14 beta download, you’ll also find a completely new interface for Siri, Apple’s own voice assistant. Unlike all the previous updates, Siri won’t open in full-screen. It means that you’ll be able to use Siri while checking the screen content simultaneously.
3. Picture-in-Picture Support
If you own an iPad, you may remember the picture-in-picture mode that was released along with iOS 13. This time, the feature is also coming to the iPhone with iOS 14, allowing users to multitask without any efforts.
With picture-in-picture support, you’ll be able to watch videos or Facetime your friends while using other apps simultaneously. However, the feature will only work with compatible apps and unfortunately, YouTube isn’t a part of them.
4. iOS 14 Translate App
iOS 14 release will also come with a new Translate app that’ll also provide offline support to the users. As of now, the app is expected to support 11 different languages and you can simply translate anything by simply tapping the Microphone button.
5. QR Code Payments
Even though Apple didn’t confirm it during the WWDC keynote, rumors say that Apple is secretly working on a new payment mode for “Apple Pay”. This method will allow users to scan a QR or Barcode and make the payments instantly. However, since Apple didn’t mention this feature during the keynote, it is most likely to arrive in the later updates.
6. iOS 14 Supported Devices
Like its predecessor, iOS 14 will be made available for iPhone 6s and later. Here is a detailed list of iOS 14 supported devices.
