If your iPhone is still responsive, but the app is not loading, then you can follow this approach. To forcefully close any app, simply double-press the Home button to get the App Switcher. Afterward, just swipe-up the app that you wish to forcefully close. If you want, you can also close all the running apps as well.

2.2 Update the malfunctioning app
