Part 2: How to reset iPhone 5c without password
Understandably, you would want to protect the content of your iPhone 5c by enabling a password on it. However, since technology rotates fast, we usually change our devices much faster these days. It only makes sense to sell it off or give it to someone else.
Unless you spring clean your iPhone 5c immediately, there is a high possibility that you would forget the passcode. In this situation, you will not be able to perform a factory setting reset since you will not have the access or authorization to do so.
Here is how to reset iPhone without a password to give you open access to your iPhone. Also, before we proceed with this method, it's better to backup the iPhone without a password so we can restore all the data after we have access to the phone.
Turn off your iPhone 5c.
Press and hold down the Home button while connecting your iPhone 5c to your computer using a USB cable. Release when the iTunes logo appears---this indicates that your device has entered Recovery Mode.
Launch iTunes if it does not do so automatically.
On iTunes, click on Restore when prompted.
Wait until iTunes establishes a connection to your device's software update server.
A pop-up message will appear. Click on Restore and Update to confirm the action.
Click Next on the iPhone Software Update window.
Click Agree to accept the terms and conditions. You cannot continue without performing this task.
Wait until iTunes has completely downloaded and installed the latest compatible iOS for your device. This will restore your iPhone 5c to its factory settings.
If you already manually downloaded the latest compatible iOS for your iPhone, follow steps 1--3 above. Thereafter, follow the steps below:
Left-click on Restore while pressing and holding down the Shift key on your keyboard when the iTunes pop-up window appears.
Locate and select the iOS file.
