With the launch of iOS 8, Apple added a recently deleted folder to make it easier for you to find deleted photos. When you delete an image from your iPhone, go to the newly deleted folder where it is stored for up to 30 days. Therefore, if the photos you want to restore were deleted within 30 days, you can find them in the Recently Deleted Folder.

Method 2.Restore Deleted Pictures from iPhone with iCloud Backups

Apple Cloud is a common way to back up and sync your files, including Photos. If you try to retrieve a photo from the recently deleted - and there is no photo available in there, then it means it has been longer than 30 days since you deleted the photos. So it may be available on the iCloud website.

iCloud backup

When you set up iCloud, you automatically get 5GB of free storage. You can use that storage space to back up your device and to keep all of your photos, videos, documents, and text messages securely stored and updated everywhere. Usually, your iPhone automatically backs up to your iCloud account, and if you delete photos from your iPhone, they'll also be deleted from your iCloud. To get around this, you can turn off iCloud photo sharing, sign in to a different iCloud account, or use a cloud server other than iCloud for photo sharing.

On Cloud.com, simply select the photos app, and the "Recently Removed" folder on the left side of the screen. It may mimic what you see on your phone, but there are times when it has photos that are not on your iPhone. Before you worry too much about lost photos, check out Cloud.com.

There are also iPhone backups to consider, which are also stored on iCloud. Apple stores your latest version of iPhone backup on iCloud, which is used to restore the phone or launch a new device.

Here's how to backup your iPhone with iCloud:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Click on the top banner ( it will have your profile photo and your name)
  • Select “iCloud”
  • Scroll down until you see “iCloud Backup”
  • Tap on “iCloud Backup”
  • Select “Back Up Now”

Method 3.How to backup photos to iTunes?

iTunes Photo

iTunes is a piece of software that lets you add to, organize and play your digital media collection on your computer, as well as sync it to a portable device. It's a jukebox player along the lines of Songbird and Windows Media Player, and you can use it on a Mac or Windows machine.

Honestly speaking, the most professional and most common method for photos backup in iPhones are iCloud and iTunes. However, iTunes offers you more a comfortable option to do just that. To use the service of iTunes, you will need a computer/laptop and a USB cable. So those who were wondering how to restore permanently deleted photos using a computer, this method is for you.

Steps to follow before iTunes backup photos:

Apple users can store their iPhone data and iCloud account in Google Drive. That includes photos, contacts and calendar. Google Drive backs up your iPhone photos to Google Photos. Similarly, your contacts and calendar are supported by Google and Calendar contacts respectively. But before you back up your photos and videos, make sure your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
